When comparing cruising and an all-inclusive vacation, you will find it hard to find a unanimous answer as to which one is the best! Traveling and the way we travel is different for everyone! Some people just want a bed to lay in and others want every amenity and plush linens. Below I will compare the two vacation options so you can make a decision based on your needs!
1.Cruising
I’ve found that people either love or hate cruising. Those that hate it typically don’t like to be tied down to a ship. Those that love it usually enjoy that they don’t have to drive around looking for meals, they have their entertainment in one spot, they can see different parts of the world, and the price point is typically better than flying/driving somewhere. Cruise fares don’t typically include alcohol so that is usually and extra cost. For the most part, newer ships have so many different activities its hard for anyone to get bored. From rock climbing to ice skating, there is something for everyone!
2. All-Inclusive Resorts
Unlike cruising, when you stay at an all-inclusive resort, you will stay in one location and not stop at different islands. Alcohol is included in your stay; this is great if you drink but if you don’t you will not pay a cheaper rate. A reputable all-inclusive resort will include multiple dining options, water activities onsite, kids programs, and daily/nightly activities. Typically I find staying at an all-inclusive more laid back because I am not having to get up and go to a different port everyday. Like cruising, you can opt to purchase excursions outside of the resort. All inclusive are a great alternative to those family members you absolutely can not get on a ship!
Overall, my family enjoys both cruising and all-inclusive resorts. Although they have similar characteristics, they are very different vacations. It is important to select the right cruise or all-inclusive resort that fits your family’s needs. You definitely don’t want to go on a family cruise that caters to adults 50+ or a family all inclusive if you’re wanting a romantic quiet honeymoon!
