As Summer 2024 is becoming more in sight, we are finally getting some fun and exciting updates about the newest attraction coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has seen some movement at Walt Disney World where the imagineers are testing the attraction with dummies and even a few cast members. We have also seen the artist concept of the attraction, the animatronic debut of Tiana, and even have been told about the story line. But now, Disney Destinations has released some more news regarding the inside of the attraction!
We are finally getting a new look at the inside of the attraction. This is the introduction of the sweet critters that will be seen while enjoying the ride. The furry friends are needed by Tiana when a mix-up with Prince Naveen happens and there is not a band for the party. The attraction will take guests on a journey in search of a band to play during the Mardi Gras celebration!

Along the journey, which there seems to be parts and this is only the beginning, Tiana and Louis come across a group of six critters playing a variety of instruments to the tune of “Gonna Take You There” from the film. The first critter is a beaver named Byhalia. She is known for making musical instruments from natural materials and is a strong percussionist. The next little friend is Gritty the rabbit. Gritty provides such high energy as she is playing the washboard.
When you run into an opossum normally you would steer clear, but with Beau the Opossum you want to run right to her! Beau can be found playing the bass made from a gourd with assistance from her tail. I know it seems strange to see these types of animals being so cute, but it’s Disney! Up next is Apollo, a squeezebox playing raccoon. A squeezebox is similar to an accordion, but is made from materials that were found around the bayou, just like the rest of the instruments. The slower creature of the bayou, a turtle named Rufus, will also be found hanging around the bayou making beautiful sounds with a harmonica. Rufus can also be found on adventures with Apollo. Finally we have Timoleon, an otter that plays the fiddle. He is the eldest band member and also the storyteller of things that happened long ago.
With the all new characters for the attraction opening this summer at Walt Disney World, there will be a new way to experience them soon! Three of the characters, Apollo, Rufus, and Beau will be available for purchase in plush form!
