Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Disney's Magic Kingdom

There seems to be a hidden gem at Disney’s Magic Kingdom that some guest just walks by and do not seem to notice the musical attraction. If you guessed Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Grizzly Hall, you would be correct. While it has been closed for refurbishment for some time, but we officially have a reopening date and the bears are eager for us to see their new attire. Let’s see who is there to welcome us back on July 17, 2024 with new costumes and new songs!

The new songs will include “Try Everything and A Whole New World from the Walt Disney Animation Studios films Zootopia and Aladdin” as said by Disney Destinations. There will also be other musical pieces that range from bluegrass to Americana, and more!

The story of The Country Bear Musical Jamboree started with Ursus H. Bear in 1898 when he created a “permanent cultural showplace dedicated to America’s musical heritage” as stated by Disney Destinations. This is how Grizzly Hall came to be. The next generation came along, Henry, who is Ursus’s grandson which has taken over the entertainment space.

Henry then introduces the Five Bear Rugs to the crowd. They perform the opening number of the show. The Five Bear Rug group is made up of Zeke, Zeb, Ted, Fred, and Tennessee. The next to perform is Trixie along with Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah (also known as the Sun Bonnets). The Sun Bonnets received a new costume in the refurbishment period and now sport a western style jacket and skirt with a Stetson instead of the original bonnet.

The next set of bears guests will see is Teddi Barra, Wendell, Ernest the Dude, Terrence, Romeo McGrowl, and Gomer. Each of them have their own story to tell.

The final bear is the famous Big Al who was performing before Walt Disney World even opened. Big Al can be found playing the guitar.
