Celebrate Soulfully at WDW!

Celebrate Soulfully is returning to the parks for February 2024! This wonderful celebration is all part of the celebration of Black History Month in the parks for the fourth year! With the celebration comes delicious food inspired by characters like Tiana, The Proud Family, the Disney and Pixar Film Soul, and other Black-owned businesses. Let’s see what the parks are dishing up this year! Most items are available beginning February 1st, and will be available through the end of the month.

Starting at the Disney’s All Star Value Resorts of Walt Disney World, guests will be able to find a Banana Pudding Cheesecake which features a vanilla wafer crust. This delightful dessert is crafted by Assistant Sous Chef, Janell Wright, who used inspiration from Jamaica where she is from.

Heading to the Moderate Resorts guests will find a fun twist on the beignet at Scat Cat’s Club - Lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The Berry Beignet has a house-made Uncle Nearest Whiskey caramel drizzle, a mixed berry compote, and a dusting of powdered sugar.

If you’re looking for something more savory, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa has a wonderful Soulful Sunday Pork Cutlet that is served with collard greens, black-eyed peas, and a slice of sweet corn bread. This dish can be found at The Artist’s Palette. Another item found there is a Traditional Pound Cake that is crafted homemade with vanilla.

Multiple resorts across Walt Disney World property will be offering a Country Fried Pork Steak being served with fried cabbage that is sauteed with a smoked sausage and roasted potato salad. Also available at a few select resorts will be a sweet Mini Red Velvet Cake that is layered with a cream cheese buttercream frosting.

Heading into the parks for some magical fun, guests will find treats all around! Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies will be whipping up a new Bananas Foster Shake while other locations have the savory side of the menus. The popular Cinderella’s Royal Table will feature a Crab-topped Catch of the Day. Another well liked restaurant, The Crystal Palace, has a new Chicken and Andouille Gumbo! The Chicken and Andouille Gumbo can also be found at The Plaza Restaurant.

One menu item that I have seen buzzing all over social media is the return of Tiana’s Famous Beignets to the Golden Oak Outpost! Speaking of Tiana, Main Street Bakery will be selling a Tiana’s Petite Cake. This adorable cake is crafted with a Vanilla chiffon cake, lemon Chantilly, and fresh strawberries. The top of the cake has a beautiful Princess Tiana chocolate medallion and a fondant flower.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe usually serves up Mexican dishes like nachos, tacos, and items like that. For Celebrate Soulfully in the park, they are adding a Fried Green Tomato BLT Sandwich. While Pinocchio Village Haus is serving up a sweet rendition of an Assistant Pastry Chefs Peach Cobbler. The chef, Tianna Roberson, has been cooking since she was ten years old and this recipe was inspired by her grandmother. Another version of Peach Cobbler is the Peach Cobbler Mini Cake at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. This version is inspired by the first cookbook by an African American Author, What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking which was published in 1881.

Also at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, guests will be able to purchase the Celebrate Soulfully Cupcake. This is crafted of a vanilla cake with banana foster jam filling, topped with vanilla buttercream frosting, and a Joe Gardner half note, which was inspired by the movie Soul. This item can be found at Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus.

Heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park, there are two returning items, The Mardi Gras Milk Shake which can be found at Hollywood Scoops. The shake is a cinnamon and vanilla mix and topped with whipped cream and a king cake doughnut. The next returning item is the Sweet Potato Lunch Box Tart that will be found at Woody’s Lunch Box.

Our final stop at the parks is EPCOT. While here during the beginning of the month, guests will be able to experience EPCOT International Festival of the Arts with so many different food booths to choose from. There will also be Celebrate Soulfully items added to some of these menus as well! A Half Note Float, again inspired by the film Soul, guests will find 3 types of slushy layered by swirls in the cup with vanilla ice cream and a white chocolate half note piece on top.

Last and certainly not least is Disney Springs! This wonderful shopping and dining district is large enough to spend an entire day, and likely not see everything. Amorette’s Patisserie is always serving up fun and delicious cakes and treats with Celebrating Soulfully being no exception. This year a Disney Channel classic is receiving such a creative tribute. The Proud Family inspired a Proud Snacks Petit Cake made of chocolate chiffon cake, peanut butter mousse, and even honey roasted peanuts as described by Disney Destinations.

One last stop at Disney Springs, and the other location that always has those special seasonal and holiday treats is The Ganachery. This year they are bringing back the Soulfully Pralines, which are pecan pralines that are coated in dark chocolate. The second item, which is new this year, is the Cookie Butter Ganache Square. It is crafted from a cookie butter ganache and then covered with dark chocolate.
