Disney has always had a way to be very accommodating of all different dietary needs. Something that can truly set their dining locations apart from many others! California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a rooftop location sitting on the 15th floor overlooking Magic Kingdom Park and Seven Seas Lagoon. Guests can experience the firework display while enjoying an exemplary meal at this signature restaurant.

Starting May 26th California Grill's updated menu will offer an expansion of plant-based options! Whether you live a plant-based lifestyle or not these dishes will ignite all your taste buds. Chef de Cuisine Daniel Sicilia, Chef Matthew Birch, and their culinary team have brought the flavor to these vegetable-centric courses. These dishes are farm-to-table and are creatively inspired. Starting with appetizers the Florida Peach and Raspberry Salad highlight some of Florida’s fresh, bright, and flavorful ingredients by featuring grilled and fresh peaches, raspberry variations, steel-cut oat granola tart, red onion, and a whipped raspberry vinaigrette. Followed by Vegetable Dumplings that are house made with a Doenjang miso-cola onion sauce, radish, crispy garlic-chili oil, and pickled lotus root.

Onto the next course! First, a House-made Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, with a fresh take on spring flavors with sunflower, allium, crispy sunchokes, charred green onions, toasted onions, and a sunflower seed-ramp pistou served with a house-made bucatini topped with a delicious cashew cream sauce. The second plant based entree is a Peas and Carrots Risotto with heirloom carrots, English peas, green garlic, confit onion, and sweet carrot foam. These dishes are carefully prepared to present the best combinations of ingredients and flavors.

But the part everyone has been waiting for: dessert! Save room for the Peanut and Banana Torte is a twist on the classic PB&J; which combines shortbread, peanut ganache, miso-caramel, nut crumbles, and caramelized bananas. And bringing back tastes from the past- “Banana Fritters” that were featured at the restaurant back in 2013, the Lavender Sugar Donuts is a special 50th Anniversary item that is now home on the plant-based menu, featuring some updated fresh ingredients in season. It has a coconut frozen dessert, blueberry gin jam, and pistachio crumble.
Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance and are highly recommended.
