April showers bring May flowers, and May brings…both Disney World Water Parks! Yes friends, you’ve read that right. Disney Destinations announced that both Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be open at the same time for guests beginning May 21, 2025. This is the first time since 2019 that all six of the parks on Walt Disney World property will be operating at the same time. So what can you expect with your visit? Let’s adventure on to see!
Currently, Disney’s Blizzard Beach is open to guests both staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, which means entrance to the water park is free during your check-in day, or those guests that hold tickets that include the water park option. We’ve also recently been informed that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will hold the H2O Glow After Hours event this summer on select nights. Were we expecting Disney’s Blizzard Beach to close for the season with that announcement? Maybe. But from May 21st through September 7th, guests will have both water parks to visit during their stay.
However, the return of both water parks being open is in courtesy of the celebration of Disney’s Blizzard Beach 30th Anniversary! There's no way to celebrate a huge milestone with a closed park, so it only makes sense that both water parks are open! Blizzard Beach will have to close for a few days, May 1st through May 20th, for some touch ups prior to the opening for the celebration! But there is so much in store for the celebration. Limited-time activities, new entertainment and activities.
Tickets for the H2O Glow After Hours event have been released for sale. Like all After Hours events, tickets are limited to keep the crowds low and the fun level high.
