So, you and your besties want to take a Girls’ Trip to the beach. Where should you go? You definitely want somewhere with clear blue water and a white sand beach. You don’t want it to be super expensive. You want somewhere all-inclusive and you don’t want to be on an airplane for more than 3 hours. There is only one place that meets all of these requirements.... BEACHES OCHO RIOS!!
I was lucky enough to be able to experience a simply wonderful BFF Getaway in June 2021 at Beaches Ocho Rios with 2 of my very best friends, Dawn and Caiona. This trip was the perfect blend of relaxation and fun adventures for all of us. Let’s explore what makes this resort the best choice for your next BFF Girls’ Trip!!
Beaches Ocho Rios is located on the North Side of Jamaica. It has 222 rooms and suites in 16 different categories. There are all kinds of rooms available at this resort-garden view, oceanview and oceanfront. So, no matter what view is your preference, Beaches Ocho Rios has you covered. All of the rooms come with big screen tvs, hair dryers and Red Lane Spa bathroom amenities. There was also complimentary hand sanitizer in the rooms. We had the privilege of staying in a Caribbean Honeymoon Oceanview Concierge Veranda Suite.
It sleeps 5 friends very comfortably. There were 2 Double Beds and a double pullout sofa. The sofa was in a sunken living area that leads out a sliding glass door to our own private balcony. The balcony was pleasantly furnished with a table that seats 4 plus towel and bathing suit racks for those wet clothes to dry out!!
This room came with Concierge Service which includes someone who helped with dining reservations, a stocked bar with your preferences of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and access to the Concierge Lounge for treats and drinks while you are heading to the beach. No matter what room you choose, you can rest assured that each room will be cleaned with Sandals Premium Cleaning Protocols. Our room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable.
At Beaches Ocho Rios, you will have 8 dining options to choose from for all of your culinary needs. We ate breakfast each morning at Bayside, which is the buffet. It was outstanding each day and each day they had different offerings for the main course. There is an omelet station (so delicious), waffles/pancakes/French toast station and a smoothie station!!
There is a fruit bar there with lots of local produce and banana bread...I wish I could have a big loaf of that every week!! It was my favorite treat!! We had dinner at Le Parisienne and Neptunes for dinner. Just 2 of their 5 star quality restaurants. The flavors were a true reflection of the French and Mediterranean cuisines they served.
Yum!!! No trip to Jamaica is complete without some Jerk Chicken and Jamaican Beef Patties. We got to eat both of those at the BBQ Park restaurant and were....in a word...spectacular!! The perfect blend of spices made it just spicy enough to have a kick without being overwhelming. Just like I stated earlier...yummy!!
Next up, thirst-quenching drinks!!! Our favorites were the Bob Marley, which is a frozen drink made with strawberry, lime and mango mixed with Jamaica’s own Appleton Rum.
It was refreshing on a hot day at the beach!! Our other favorite was the Spicy Bloody Mary. This drink was the perfect blend of spices and very invigorating while in the pool. Josephine’s Creperies also has scrumptious smoothies served every day. The Strawberry-Mango was my favorite!!
You’ve had your yummy breakfast with a refreshing mimosa and now where do you go?? To the beach of course!!! The three of us girls are total opposites in terms of what activities are relaxing. For me, having a fruity drink, an umbrella and a good book is all I needed for a great beach day... for my BFFs, that was not the case. They loved the many beach activities that were offered here. So many water sports to choose from: including paddleboards, Hobie Cats, kayaks, snorkeling and a glass bottom boat are all
included with your stay at Beaches Ocho Rios. My BFFs chose the paddleboards and kayaks for their beach adventures!! They loved them!! They got to see so much of the
ocean animal life and plant life while doing these activities. The water was a little rough while they did the paddleboards but they still had so much fun. By the pool, nightly activities included different shows every night on the main stage. On our very first night at Beaches, a beach party was happening-complete with fire dancers!! Participation was outstanding and super fun for all!! One night was karaoke. Due to our dining reservation we were unable to see all of the performers. We got to see the last couple of singers and they were amazing. On Jamaican Night, the multi-talented staff showed off their singing and dancing abilities. On our first night we were there-complete with fire dancers!! It was an outstanding and super fun party to participate in.
My BFFs and I went on one of the BEST excursions I have ever been on!! It was through Island Routes, which can be booked right there at Beaches or prior to leaving
for Beaches!! Our day started at 8AM when we left on an air-conditioned bus to Chukka Caribbean Adventures. Once there we received a bracelet that would allow us to visit
the river tubing on White River, The Zipline Adventure and the Blue Hole!! These 3 activities were so amazing to be able to see some of the best places in Jamaica. The river tubing was so relaxing and beautiful. The Ziplines were a great way to see the White River from above!! The Blue Hole was in a word....SUPERB!!! There were jumps into the different falls as well as a 25 ft jump from a landing. It was exhilarating and such a major rush!! I loved everything about this excursion. We topped it all off with Fins to Right Margarita and Jerk Chicken from Margaritaville!!
This vacation was perfect!! There was something for everyone to do, something for everyone to eat and something for everyone to drink!! We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Beaches Ocho Rios and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a BFF Getaway!!
