What destination comes to mind when you think of the perfect family getaway?? Is it the beach? Or is it the Mountains? Is it a cross country trip in a car? Or a plane ride to a Caribbean Island? For my family and me, it’s the beach!!! And when you put that beach in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, you have created a perfect setting!!! That is exactly where we went on our family vacation this year to Beaches Negril in Jamaica!!
My family spent 5 nights at the gorgeous Beaches Negril in September 2024.This true beach lover’s paradise is situated on the world famous Seven Mile Beach on the west coast of Jamaica. The sunsets here are vibrant and like no other sunsets I have ever seen. Although considered the smallest of the current Beaches Resorts with 197 rooms and suites, it definitely packs quite the punch for food options, activities and entertainment!!
One of the best parts of a true all-inclusive resort is the unlimited food and drink options!! At Beaches Negril you have 10 dining options plus Yoyo’s (Frozen Yogurt Bar! My family’s favorite!). You can choose from Kimono’s (Hibachi), Mariachi’s (Mexican), Stewfish (Surf and Turf) plus more!! These were just a few of our favorites. Green Machine and Chick’n Dippers are 2 food trucks that have quick serve options like quinoa bowls, salads, chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches. The best part of all of these dining options is ALL of the food is included!! You never have an upcharge for steak or lobster!!! Also, all premium liquors, such as Tito’s or Patron, are included in your stay as well!! All you have to do is ask for them and you shall receive!!
Beaches Negril is located on the widest stretch of Seven Mile Beach with super calm water. Therefore, every kind of water sport is available to do here!! Whether you want to paddleboard, kayak, or snorkel, you can do it all!! There are also AquaTrikes, Banana Boat Tubing and even wakeboarding!!! Are you a certified Scuba Diver?? Guess What?? That is INCLUDED too!!! You can go on 2 dives per day if you would like!! Want to learn how to scuba dive and be able to complete a shallow scuba dive?? You can get certified with Beaches for a small fee!! Looking for land sports?? You can play tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, lawn chess and more!! And YES….it’s ALL included in the price of your room!!
Beaches Negril is a family friendly resort so having specialized kids activities is a must!! First up- Pirate’s Island Waterpark which has a lazy river, waterslides and splash area for all kids to enjoy. There are also 2 large pools for families to enjoy as well. Second, there are 3 supervised Kid’s Camp areas-Camp Sesame (ages 0-4), Kids Camp (ages 5-12) and Trenchtown (ages 13-17). There are lots of daily activities here in the Kid’s Camp like baking cookies with Cookie Monster, Exercise with Elmo and more!! Activities also include a basketball court and a playground for all kids and at night there are shows and karaoke for the kids to enjoy as well.
Because I have many clients who have expressed concern about the safety of Jamaica due to some news reports that have aired, I want to assure that I feel safe enough to travel with my family to this amazing country. The people in this country want you to return, so overall these people are friendly and care tremendously about your safety as well. Be assured, I caution all of my clients to be cautious when traveling to any destination, whether it is in the United States or international. Unfortunately there are undesirable areas all over the world. However, as long as you are aware of your surroundings, you can have a wonderful vacation in Jamaica and anywhere else in the world!!
