Jamaica has always held a special place in my heart, but this recent trip reminded me just how powerful travel can be when it’s paired with purpose.
Myself and another agent traveled to Jamaica as part of a Back to Jamaica initiative to help support tourism while also giving back to the local community. From the moment we landed, it was clear: the airport and roads were clear, the island was welcoming, and Jamaica was ready to receive visitors with open arms.
An Unforgettable Stay
We stayed at the stunning Sandals Dunn’s River, which served as host for this special event. From the welcome reception to the nightly entertainment, everything was beautifully done. The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous and fully ready to welcome guests. The staff’s warmth and pride in their island made the experience even more special. You could feel their excitement about having tourists back, and although we were there for them, they wanted to serve and make sure every detail of our stay was perfect.

One of the most meaningful parts of our trip was the opportunity to donate school supplies to local children. Seeing their smiles, hearing their sweet singing voices, and feeling their joy was incredibly moving. We handwrote cards that we placed in stockings stuffed with toys, books, coloring supplies, and other fun things for kids. Moments like these are a reminder that travel isn’t just about beautiful resorts and excursions — it’s about human connection and making a difference where we can.
Why This Trip Mattered
This trip wasn’t just about promoting tourism — it was about showing that Jamaica is open, safe, vibrant, and thriving, while also highlighting the importance of supporting the communities that make these destinations so special.
I returned home inspired, grateful, and even more passionate about helping my clients experience Jamaica in a meaningful way. Travel truly has the power to uplift — both the traveler and the destination.
