Back-to-Back Cruises

Mimosas on Carnival Cruise Line

Do you have some extra vacation days to burn? Are you retired? Do you simply just want your vacation to never end? If you love to cruise, let me suggest a back-to-back cruise experience.

I was recently given the opportunity to add an extra week to our existing cruise on the Carnival Glory out of New Orleans.  The first week our itinerary was an Eastern Caribbean for 7 days. When that sailing ended, we stayed aboard the same ship for a Western Caribbean sailing. We lucked out having two different itineraries.

In Transit Passes Carnival

Two nights prior to cruise end, we received a letter regarding the procedures to follow.  It also came with two In Transit passes for us to use if we wished to disembark the ship for the day and return later.  Also in the letter, it instructed us where to go to conduct our rapid COVID test. That was done the 2nd to last day, free of charge.

We weren’t able to keep our state room so on the morning of debarkation, they moved all of our luggage to our new cabin.

On the morning of the final day, we made our way down to the appointed dining room at 9 :00 am.  There, they gave us our new sign and sail cards and took new photos of us.
Once the ship was cleared of the remaining passengers, we all moved into the lobby for pictures and mimosas.  We stayed there with the other back-to-back cruisers for about 30 minutes until they released us to do what we wanted on board.

Stateroom Fruit Champagne Carnival

Our cabin was ready by noon with luggage delivered. It also had a nice bowl of fruit and a bottle of champagne waiting for us.  Carnival made the process absolutely smooth and flawless.  I highly recommend trying it if you have the time.
