For those of you that know me, I am always on the go as a Marvelous Mouse travel agent. I am a full-time working mother with three busy children. Therefore when I go on vacation, my focus is often on ensuring that the kids have a great time. I do not often take enough time to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy some time to myself. So when I recently went on a girls trip to the five-star luxurious all-inclusive Moon Palace Jamaica in Ocho Rios, I thought this is the perfect time to treat myself to a day at their Awe Spa.
What I discovered is that I love massages! I had an amazing experience at the Moon Palace Jamaica’s Awe Spa. This full service spa is the largest spa on the island and they offer a variety of facials, massages, body wraps, and other luxurious services.
What I experienced was a chance for me to relax in a soothing environment that stimulated all five senses. Upon entering the spa, my sense of smell was intrigued by the aroma of sandalwood and floral. Visually the spa is stunning, as you walk through the hallway lined with waterfalls that leads you down to the hydrotherapy pools lit up beautifully in hues of blue and turquoise. My sense of taste was heightened by the hibiscus infused water offered to me before and after my massage during my time at the relaxation retreat.
During my Back deep tissue massage, which is recommended to alleviate accumulated stress through deep pressure, my sense of smell was intrigued again as the masseuse wafted essential oils at key moments during my session. The quiet music allowed for gently gliding into a relaxing mindset. And of course, the sense of touch was blissfully experienced during my deep tissue massage.
The session was wrapped up with a multi stage hydrotherapy journey. This replenishing treatment takes you through several stages beginning with the hot sauna, then to a cooling room ultimately culminating in a massive hydrotherapy pool.
