The Independence of the Seas launched in 2008 as part of the Royal Caribbean Freedom Class Ships and boasts fifteen decks. There are 1,918 staterooms for 4603 passengers. The Independence of the Seas also has 1,360 crew members. It was most recently refurbished in 2018.

The Independence of the Seas has an Interactive water park, a dedicated water area for small children, multiple pools and hot tubs, and water slides. As an extra treat there is even an escape room!

For the athletic minded group there is a running track and a sports deck that includes a rock-climbing wall, trampoline, basketball/football court, water slides, and the FlowRider surfing pool. For the adults there are bars, a two-story spa and fitness center, a casino, an art gallery, the Solarium pool, specialty restaurants and adult-themed comedy shows. There is also a movie theater, the Royal Theater where Broadway style shows are produced, and an ice-skating rink!

Included in the price of the cruise are a selection of dining options including the Windjammer Café, Sorrento’s, and three dining rooms

Some of the fabulous dining options that are available at an extra charge include: Johnny Rockets, Fish & Ships, Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, and Ben & Jerry’s.

You can also explore the shops on the Royal Promenade.

Right now, the Independence of the Seas is sailing in the Bahamas with a stop at their private Island Prefect Day at CocoCay. There is so much to do on the Independence of the Seas you will never get bored!
