All About Universal Studios Express Passes

By:  Marvelous Mouse Travels

Do you love theme parks but the lines just suck the fun out of your trip? Universal Studios offers two types of Express Passes:

  1. Universal Express Unlimited
  2. Universal Express Standard

Types of Express Passes

The Express Unlimited pass can be used an unlimited number of times at participating attractions each day your pass is valid. Contrary to the Unlimited pass, the standard pass can only be used at each attraction one time per day the pass is valid. Currently there are three rides that do not offer express pass entry:  Jurassic World Velocicoaster, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and Pteranodon flyers at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Express passes for Universal’s Volcano Bay are available to purchase separately.

How Much Are Express Passes?

Express passes vary in price. Pricing can fluctuate depending on they day of the week or the season you travel to the parks. Universal Express Pass prices range from $59.99 for a one-park single-use pass in slow season to $259.99 for a two-park unlimited pass on a holiday. One of the perks of staying onsite at a Universal Premier Resort is each registered guest staying at the resort will receive the Unlimited Express Pass included in their stay.

Are Express Passes Worth It?

No matter what time of year or weekday you use an Express Pass, it will significantly reduce your wait time. The time you’ve saved waiting in line could mean enjoying a nice breakfast and not rushing to the parks as soon as they open, getting to see and experience more attractions, and enjoying the park at your leisure.
