In early November 2022 several agents from Marvelous Mouse Travels were invited to stay at Sandals Ochi Beach resort to learn more about the resort. Sandals Ochi Beach resort, located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica offers 16 restaurants and 11 bars making eating/drinking easily the number one activity onsite. However, there is so much more to do at this incredible resort, so let’s dive in to learn more about activities at Sandals Ochi!
During the day, there are so many activities at Sandals Ochi to take part in such as lounging by one of the cove-style beaches or at one of the many pools. Some of the pools have live DJ’s or various entertainment included also. One of the reasons that Sandals resorts stand out among the competition are the additionally inclusions of land and water sports. Land sports include at Sandals Ochi are volleyball, basketball, board games, bocce ball, darts, horseshoes, shuffleboard, table tennis, croquet, rock climbing on the Caribbean’s largest rock-climbing wall, lawn chess, tennis, pool, and squash. You may find work out classes in the pool, at the beach or at one of the two fitness centers on site. You may also use the facilities individually (outside of a class) 24/7.
If you would like to travel offsite, you can visit the Sandals Golf & Country Club for a challenging 18-hole course. Although the greens fees and transfers are complimentary you do need to be prepared for additional fees as the caddies are not included but are mandatory. Additionally, golf carts, clubs and shoes may be rented at an additional charge.
Watersports included at Sandals Ochi are kayaking, windsurfing, hobie cats, snorkeling, paddleboards, aqua trikes, glass bottom boats and scuba diving. Yes, that is right, they even include scuba diving! The daily scuba dining that is included is for certified divers and can be reserved upon arrival to the resort. If you are not yet certified, you can sign up for your certification course in advance. The certification through Sandals does come at an additional cost. Snuba, which is a mix between scuba and snorkeling, is available at Sandals Ochi for a cost of $89/person.
Sandals Ochi does offer additional services/activities at an additional charge. These activities include spa services at one of the two Red Lane Spas, a Catamaran Cruise, Professional photography sessions, additional offsite tours/excursions, private candlelight dinners and more.
Most of the above activities are available during the day, so let’s also discuss what activities Sandals Ochi offers at night. Theme Nights are so much fun and are currently noted as:
These theme nights are subject to change and may include more than noted. For example, during a previous visit, we were able to experience the Silent Headphone Party on a Monday night during the Caribbean Carnival Beach Party at the Ochi Beach Club! The silent headphone party was one of my favorite events!
The themed nights and main show are not the only nightlife offered onsite, however. Each night the Ocean Beach Bar features a live DJ, Miss Ethel’s Piano Bar features a live performer from 6pm-2am nightly, Karaoke can be found at 10pm nightly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the Polo Lounge and one of our majority favorites was visiting The Rabbit Hole. The Rabbit Hole requests a secret password to enter, so make sure to ask a Sandals employee during the day. This “hidden” speakeasy bar features live performances but not every evening, so also make sure to check your app or ask an employee for the entertainment schedule upon arrival. All these nightly entertainment options are included when you stay at Sandals Ochi!
