Do you ever feel guilty just thinking about possibly taking a girls trip? This trip was a vacation I didn’t know I needed. It is great to be able to get with your girlfriends and plan a mini getaway and what better place than to Walt Disney World. Don’t get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY love to travel with my family but it was nice to get away and focus on my friendships. My family is all about “What’s the next ride?” On this trip I was able to take my time to shop and look at their newest merchandise without anyone anxiously waiting for me to be done shopping…. I also made time to visit a few characters at all the theme parks of Walt Disney World and took some great pictures.
Another fun part of traveling with the girls is that we are all about the outfits, the EARS, and YES, the bags. My family is already accustomed to my packing, day time outfits for the theme parks and then night time outfits for dinners. It was exciting to discuss with my friends what outfits we had in mind, what our itinerary was going to be like, etc.
One of the mornings we got up early and had reservations at Steak71 for breakfast. This restaurant is inside the Contemporary resort right next to Magic Kingdom. Their service was impeccable, the food was flavorful & the resort itself was just exquisite. One of the perks of using a travel agent is not having to spend hours researching what restaurants to visit or even making reservations for yourself, they take care of this for you at no additional cost. On a recent trip I got to experience the best Cheeseburger Rolls thanks to a tip from a fellow agent. This has quickly made the list of my top snacks to have at Walt Disney World.
When vacationing with your friends you do things a little different… Some may choose to “rope drop” and visit one of the four amazing theme parks at Walt Disney World while others may want to sleep in and start their day a little later. Now, even though we were away from home we were not excluded from our mom duties. Yes, the calls still came in from home and work at times but we managed to still enjoy each other’s company. We all understand each other and know how busy our lives can be so we made the best of our time spent on this trip.
The crowds during this time of year were great! The lines for the rides were short & sweet, the temperatures were pleasant & we were even able to get some amazing pictures in front of the castle without any crowd. My favorite part of visiting the theme parks is to be able to do meet and greets with some of my favorite characters.
One of the nights we headed over for dinner at Topolino’s Terrace, another highly recommended restaurant by one of our amazing travel agents. This restaurant is strategically set on the 10th floor and has a gorgeous panoramic scene. The view from this restaurant at night can simply leave you breathless... You can take your drink out unto the terrace to watch the fireworks from the various theme parks of Walt Disney World. The French & Italian cuisine was magnificent and so were the drinks. We laughed and talked so much that by the time we turned around the restaurant was completely empty, just a few wait staff were left. We still managed to step out into the terrace to take in the views once more before heading down to our rooms.
Even though you might feel guilty taking the trip, we sometimes need the break from our busy lives in order to reconnect with our friends most of all when you’re miles apart. The laughs and stories you share over snacks at the theme parks or while out at dinners are something that will help you refuel your inner self. So take the trip, you won’t regret it!
