A Christmas Story House and Museum

You won't have to worry about shooting your eye out here! Thanks to Cayce for this review on the iconic house from one of the best Christmas movies ever.

Christmas fans – it’s time for a road trip to Cleveland, OH! On West 11th Street you can visit the original filming location of “A Christmas Story” where Ralphie and the rest of the Parker family lived.

The house was originally built in 1895. The film producers were looking for a place to be the Parker home when they found this house in Cleveland. While many of the scenes were shot on a sound stage you can stand in the presence of where Ralphie nearly shot his eye out in the back yard, had a shootout with Black Bart and his gang, and where dad dragged in his major award!

In 2004 the house was put up for sale on eBay. It sold to the current owner, Brian Jones, for $150,000. Jones then put in over $200,000 in renovations to restore it to its movie façade.

You can tour the house daily except for major holidays. There is free street parking all around the block and paid parking right next to the house.

The gift shop across the street is where you purchase your tickets. You won’t find a larger selection of “A Christmas Story” gift items all in one place! Fans of “Elf”, “Home Alone”, and “Christmas Vacation” won’t be disappointed by the available items either.

Across the street from the house is the museum where many of the original costumes, scripts, and even the Red Rider BB Gun live. The museum is included at no additional charge with your tour and is a can’t miss portion of your “A Christmas Story” adventure.
