Disneyland has a major milestone coming in the next few months, and it’s one you will want to be there to celebrate! The 70th Anniversary of Disneyland Park kicks off on July 17, 2025! That is 70 years of magic, memories, and The Happiest Place on Earth! With the celebration comes new experiences to help relive the magic that was brought to the parks.
Main Street U.S.A. will bring quite a few of these changes and experiences. Did you know that Main Street U.S.A. was inspired by Marceline, Missouri which is Walt Disney’s hometown.
A three-and-a half minute film will debut at the Main Street Cinema. This film is called “The Last Verse” and is a tribute to the Sherman Brothers, who are the creators of the song that will forever live in your head, “It’s A Small World.” For the 60th Anniversary, a new verse was released, making it the final piece contributed to the song by Richard M. Sherman, and now with the celebration of the 70th Anniversary, one final verse will be released.
The second experience that is coming to Main Street U.S.A. is inside the Main Street Opera House. Guests will get a glimpse of Walt’s private apartment that sits above Main Street U.S.A. with the special items that will be brought to the lobby. Some of these items include a rocking chair, lamp, and a table, which none of these items have been seen by the public before. There will also be a display of the evolution of Walt Disney’s Dream of Disneyland. These items, and more, have been chosen by The Walt Disney Family Museum.
Finally, “Walt Disney-A Magical Life” will open along with these other memorable items. This film takes remastered footage, along with audio recordings, and takes guests through the journey of Walt Disney in his early years of experiencing Los Angeles, and where it leads him to.
