My #1 goal on my recent visit to Disneyland was to eat all the food! And I got pretty close! There is truly something for everyone - from sweet and savory snacks, creative baked goods, and yummy quick service options to upscale fine dining. Here are 5 favorite foods from Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Churros are a very popular snack item at Disneyland. I tried the classic churro and the Fruity Sugar churro - both at Disney California Adventure. Nothing beats the classic in my opinion when it’s fresh and covered in lots of cinnamon sugar. But I was pleasantly surprised by the Fruity Sugar churro which is covered in crushed up Fruity Pebbles (like the dust from the bottom of the cereal box) and drizzled with icing. I expected this treat to be super sweet but it wasn’t. It hit just right.
Tip: this seasonal option can be found at Cozy Cone Churros in Cars Land and is paired perfectly with a Vanilla Vodka Orange Slush (think dreamsicle.)
You read that last part right. Ooey-gooey mac & cheese served in a sourdough bread bowl. Both of these quick service options can be found at Refreshment Corner on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. If your family is like mine, you often by variety boxes of chips and are often left with just the Chile Cheese Fritos after everyone has eaten their favorites m. Well the Spicy Firefly Chips are the perfect solution! The chili, melted cheese and jalapeños were the perfect additions to the corn chips and had just the right amount of kick.
It’s amazing how making something Mickey-shaped can make it taste so much better. Or maybe it’s just in our heads. Either way, the Mickey-shaped Beignets at Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland Park were the perfect start to the day. We made a beeline to this small quick service spot in New Orleans Square to enjoy these freshly made beignets for breakfast.
Avengers Campus is the newest section of Disney California Adventure and features Pym Test Kitchen where Pym Particles have made some of your favorite foods, well bigger! There are a lot of great lunch and dinner options at this quick service restaurant. I tried the Not So Little Chicken Sandwich with Potato Bites and Quantum Pretzel with Cheddar Cheese Beer Sauce. My favorite part of the sandwich was honestly the red cabbage slaw but the chicken cutlet was yummy and who doesn’t love tots. But the pretzel and beer cheese hit it out of the park. The pretzel is soft and perfectly salted while the beer cheese is gooey with a little kick. Pro tip: dip your tots in the beer cheese!
If you’re visiting Disney California Adventure on a particularly hot day, I recommend stopping by Rita’s Baja Blenders on Pacific Wharf for a frozen margarita. They offer 5 flavors of frozen margaritas! Pictured here is the Grand Lemon-Lime Margarita with an extra splash of liqueur. Delicious!
I could go on and on about all my favorite foods at Disneyland. And I’ll be happy to if you just ask! What will you be trying on your next trip?
