The 4th of July is a huge holiday for the United States of America is celebrated in so many ways across the country, but no one does it like Walt Disney World. The celebration includes food, entertainment, and of course, fireworks!
Once a year, technically twice I suppose, the most amazing fireworks display happens over Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park. “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” transforms the sky above Cinderella Castle and the projections on the castle are breathtaking. The nighttime spectacular takes place on both July 3rd and July 4th around 9:20pm. There is also a display that takes place over Seven Seas Lagoon, which means guests that are around the area can also experience the magic without being in the park.

Prior to the nighttime spectacular, and even for hours after, guests can enjoy a fun-filled dance party in front of the castle and throughout the park. The park will offer extended evening hours on these two days. The park will remain open until midnight for July 3rd, and 1 am for July 4th, with the park opening at 8 am on both days. Now that is a park day!
EPCOT is also hosting quite a few celebrations for the 4th. The park showcases The American Adventure pavilion, and there is no better place to celebrate! The acapella group “Voices of Liberty” will be performing numerous songs throughout the day. “Voices of Liberty” seems to be a hidden gem in the entertainment aspect of Walt Disney World, if you have the chance to see them live, I absolutely recommend it!

Another fun and limited offering is the photo opportunity with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy! They will be greeting guests in their “Spirit of ‘76” attire for the day! The crew can also be found at The American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT.
Inside The American Adventure pavilion, Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors will be available for guests to visit. The display is more than 60 oil paintings that were created by President George W. Bush, service members, and veterans. This exhibit is part of the Bush Institute's Veteran and Military Families Program.
As the sun retreats for the day, Spaceship Earth will transform into the American Flag with colors of red, white, and blue! Not long after, “Luminous The Symphony of US” will take the stage in the World Showcase. However, not only will guests be able to experience the EPCOT nighttime spectacular, they will also get to experience “The Heartbeat of Freedom” on July 3rd and 4th.

These are just a few of the amazing ways that Walt Disney World celebrates the 4th of July in the parks. Every day there is a Daily Flag Retreat inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom, where a U.S. Veteran participates in the ceremony and are recognized for their sacrifice and service. The Hall of Presidents, runs continuously throughout the day and retraces the history of the presidents, and is located in Liberty Square which is the tribute to the original thirteen colonies of the United States.
The 4th of July is such an amazing day to spend in the parks. The magic of Disney truly shows through with its display of patriotism.
