Disney’s Animal Kingdom park will be full of celebrations for the 30th anniversary of “The Lion King” film. Festival of the Lion King is easily one of my favorite live shows in the parks, and always a must do for my family. A new merchandise collection for this milestone will be available from June 10 through September 6, 2024. New food and snacks will also be available for purchase. One item that can be expected to be in the park is the Pumbaa premium popcorn bucket! Once you purchase your popcorn bucket, you can get refills for a discounted price throughout the parks for the rest of your stay. There will be a full Foodie Guide coming, so stay tuned for that!
If your family enjoys the character meet and greets, be sure to head over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, just a short train ride that takes you behind the scenes to a separate part of the park. Here guests will find Timon and Rafiki! There is also an Affection Section at Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you can pet and hug animals like goats and even the pig, Charlotte, that inspired the character Pua for Disney’s “Moana.” If you visit the center during certain times, there is also the opportunity to take an Animation Experience class from a Disney animator and learn to draw a character from “The Lion King.”
