Celebrate big this June at Walt Disney World along with other guests in honor of ‘The Lion King’ being released 30 years ago! Disney Parks always goes big for celebrating, and the milestones for hits like ‘The Lion King’ is no exception. Let’s find out the delicious snacks and beverages that are inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park through September 9, 2024!
The eats, sweets, and drinks are all crafted and inspired by characters from the film. The first set of delicious options are located on Discovery Island, the first area you come to after entering the park. Up first we have The Simba. Found at Eight Spoon Cafe, this mango flavored slushy is topped with a splash of grenadine and two grubs. Hakuna Matata! Don’t fret, the grubs are actually gummy grubs which are not slimy but definitely satisfying. The next sweet beverage can be found at Tiffins Restaurant, which I highly recommend advanced reservations for. Rafiki’s Squash Banana is a blended shake that contains bananas and baobab fruit with flavoring of vanilla, cardamom, and cinnamon. There is also a Simba cub design on top, which is adorable! Tiffins Restaurant will also feature a “Remember Who You Are” The Lion King 30th Anniversary Dessert. This piece of art is crafted with Kenyan coffee mousse that is filled with caramelized bananas. The plating is where the art comes in, it features a banana caramel-sauce with chocolate-coffee crumble, a sugar sun, and a chocolate piece which displays a silhouette of animals on the pride lands. Right next door is Pizzafari, which is you guessed it, a pizza restaurant. Here guests will find a Rightful Ruler Cupcake which is made with a red velvet cupcake and cookies and cream cheesecake filling. It is then topped with chocolate icing, chocolate rocks, and a chocolate medallion featuring Scar.
If you head to the left when you are facing The Tree of Life, you will find yourself in Africa. A cold treat is just what you will be looking for during a Summer visit to Walt Disney World A Tamu Tamu Refreshments you will find the perfect option! The Zazu Ice Cream Sandwich is the perfect combination of two blue sugar coated sugar cookies with creamy vanilla ice cream sandwiched between. The second choice is the You Follow Old Rafiki Cheesecake which is found inside Harambe Market. The coconut-lime crust is topped with passion fruit-mango cheesecake. The decorations are made with a vanilla bean chantilly and a chocolate medallion featuring Rafiki.
Throughout the park in select carts there will be the Simba Paw Cookie. This sugar cookie is super cute with its yellow icing designed to look like a paw print.
The final area that will feature ‘The Lion King’ menu items is inside DinoLand U.S.A. Restaurantosaurus will have a few items on the menu for the celebration. Starting with a delicious beverage named Shenzi Strawberry Lemonade. It is crafted with the perfect blend of Minute Maid Lemonade, Minute Maid Strawberry Smoothie, and a dash of blue curacao syrup. It also comes with a souvenir glow cube! Just around the corner at Trilo-Bites there is a fun DOLE Whip! A Zazu DOLE Whip Lime and Coconut Float is a fun little treat! It has the DOLE Whip Lime swirled on top of Sprite then added in coconut and a blue curacao syrup.
