Every few weeks we get some exciting news about new festivals, entertainment, and special events that are coming up. Along with all of those exciting things, we get Foodie Guides! This time it is the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. This popular event will run from March 1 through April 22, 2024. This year there will be over 80 new items throughout the park for guests to purchase and enjoy. Also returning on select dates will be live cooking demonstrations! Let’s get into the details of this fan favorite event!
One way to indulge is with the Sip and Savor Pass. This year guests will have the option to purchase a four-coupon or eight-coupon pass. Those coupons are then exchanged at select locations for food or non-alcoholic beverages, and can be used at any time during the festival.
One booth that looks interesting is the Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo which will be serving Cheese Pizza-flavored Wings with a side of ranch sauce. I’m not totally sure how they will combine the flavors, but I would be willing to give it a try, would you? Returning is the BBQ Beef Brisket Slider.
Earth Eats is where guests can find the IMPOSSIBLE menu items. First up is the IMPOSSIBLE Chicken Parm Bites, these are covered in a tomato and cheese sauce and topped with grated parmesan cheese. Next is the IMPOSSIBLE Beef Stroganoff, which features egg noodles and a mushroom cream sauce then tossed with IMPOSSIBLE beef and sour cream drizzle.
The next booth, Golden Dreams, has a fun frozen treat! The Frozen Old Fashioned is a non-alcoholic ice cream that is bourbon flavored with a bitters crema and orange zest glaze drizzle and sprinkled with cherry spheres. Also new this year at Golden Dreams is a Fig Matcha Latte, while returning is the Blueberry Pancake Cold Brew. Which would you choose?
LA Style has three new menu items this year, all of which sound fantastic! The Carnitas-style Pork Belly is served with a side of esquites corn mac salad. The second dish is a Baja-style Fish Taco that is topped with pico de gallo, cabbage slaw, and a cilantro line crema drizzle. The third item is not a dish, but a delicious beverage that would pair perfectly with either of the two dishes above. The Spicy Strawberry Cocktail is the perfect mix of strawberry and tamarind purees, pineapple juice, Gin, and spices.
Returning to the Nuts About Cheese booth this year is the Mickey-shaped Macaron! This adorable chocolate macaron is filled with caramel ganache and topped with SNICKERS pieces. New this year is the BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese. The new sweet-ish treat is the PB&J Whiskey Shake. The peanut butter whiskey is blended with vanilla ice cream, raspberry liquor, and Joffrey’s Coffee. Talk about YUM!
Outside of the booths, even some of the restaurants are offering special items for the event, like Lamplight Lounge who will have Turk and a little bit of Surf. This dish consists of filet mignon on top of a cauliflower puree, with soy glazed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and a side of shrimp toast. Over at Pym Tasting Lab, a new Pint-sized Pints Mini Flight will be introduced beginning March 1st.
Four, yes four, new churros will be available during the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine! A Cannoli Churro can be found at Churros at Hollywood Land. The traditional churro will be topped with cannoli cream, chocolate chips, and puff pastry. A Spice Shortbread Churro will be found at Churros near Goofy’s Sky School. This churro will feature a spicy shortbread sugar and drizzled with cookie butter. A fun loving character will also have a new churro crafted after them. The Unforgettable Bing Bong Churro is made of shortbread sugar and topped with strawberry jelly and sprinkle icing. The final churro is a Butterscotch Banana Churro which has a banana sugar then drizzled with butterscotch icing, it is finally topped with butterscotch drops and a banana chip crumble.
