2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has officially begun, and the parks are transformed on those select nights for a spectacular event. Each year the event brings guests together for trick or treating, special character interactions, fireworks spectacular, and so much more.
During these special ticketed events, guests have the opportunity to meet and take photos with some rare characters like The 7 Dwarfs, Jack and Sally, Jack Sparrow, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, along with Ariel and Eric. On occasion, daytime guests will see some of these characters out and about, but they are not regulars. Ariel however, is meeting with guests on a daily basis at her grotto but not with Prince Eric.
Another magical addition when attending the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the addition of your Disney Memory Maker. This magical extra is an amazing keepsake for your visit, but when you attend the evening event, there are some amazing “extras” that appear out of thin air.
While there are regular shots throughout the park, like in front of the castle, at the beginning of Main Street U.S.A., and with characters, guests will be able to experience multiple Magic Shots throughout the parks. There are at least six new Magic Shots, and many more returning this year for the event. The Oogie Boogie Moon and the Lock, Shock, and Barrel Magic Shots are returning this year. Another new Magic Shot is the poison apple being held by the Evil Queen's hand, this can be found on Main Street U.S.A.
Tinker Bell usually makes an appearance in some of those Magic Shots, you hold your hand out flat and she appears in your photo. This year Tinker Bell is sporting new apparel with the colors of Fall and leaves swirling around.
Mickey balloons can be found in multiple parks, and generally decorated with the big celebration happening throughout the parks. For the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, they are decorated bats, candy corn, and even a Mickey Pumpkin! These always turn out to be my favorite shots as someone in your party is floating away!
Near Casey’s Corner, guests will find a PhotoPass Photographer that will be snapping shots. These photos have the beautiful backdrop of the Castle lit up and smiling stacked pumpkins on either side.
The Haunted Mansion is always a go-to for party goers. On the way, be sure to stop and snap a photo where the Hitchhiking Ghosts appear! Stick your thumb out and lean as if you were part of the crew!
The infamous Headless Horseman also makes an appearance in some photos in Liberty Square, “Prepare yourself, the bells have tolled” said by the headless man himself.
Another popular Magic Shot is of Maleficent breathing fire towards frightened guests. This shot can be found by the wall near Pinocchio Village Haus.
While there are so many Photopass opportunities throughout the parks and Magic Shots that go with them, the possibilities are endless for fun!
